One of the most rewarding things about being a blogger is being exposed to new music, art, trends and gadgets. Such is the case with….Pomplamoose. Formed in 2008 Pomplamoose is a gifted musical duo comprised of singers/ instrumentalists Nataly Dawn and Jack Conte.
These two talented artists have built up an impressive collection of videos that range anywhere from Michael Jackson’s ‘Beat it’ to the amusing ‘Angry Birds Theme’. (Yes, I said ‘Angry Birds Theme’.
Each and every video has two specific and unbreakable rules:
1. What you see is what you hear (no lip-syncing for instruments or voice).
2. If you hear it, at some point you see it (no hidden sounds).
Nataly’s waifish, wide-eyed good looks and her soft spoken vocals pair exceedingly well with Jack’s unbridled energy. The more I look into these guys the more I like them and want to find their next video treasure.
Here are a few that I discovered and I am off to go download more of their stuff from iTunes. I wonder if they take requests? Might be an interesting social interaction. What do you say guys?
You can also check out Nataly’s newest endeavor. It’s a YouTube channel called My Terrible Friend and she collaborates with Lauren O’Connell. Even MORE great music to tickle your earbuds, blast on your Bose or simply hum along to in the car as you are stuck in rush hour traffic.
My Terrible Friend is an old endeavor already. Since that band formed and put out a single album, Jack has released “VS4″, Nataly is about to release “How I Knew Her,” and together they just put out an EP: http://tinyurl.com/pompstore
Thanks for the heads up. I JUST stumbled across them and was blown away at how talented they are.
Yes, they’re amazing. I drove 500 miles to see them in concert last year! (Live concerts are exceedingly rare for them.)
I will be on the lookout for them for sure. See you at the next show!
