As pre-production of Star Wars: Episode VII begins, Lucasfilm has confirmed that award-winning writer Michael Arndt will write the screenplay for the new Star Wars film. Kathleen Kennedy and George Lucas have already begun story conferences with Arndt. who wrote the screenplay for Hunger Games: Catching Fire won an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for writing Little Miss Sunshine (2006), and was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay for writing Toy Story 3 (2010). (Yeah, he is what we call ‘gifted’.) There was talks earlier that multiple writers would be participating in drafting up Star Wars Episode VII but Lucasfilm has immeasurable confidence in Arndt’s ability and have named him the ONLY writer for the film. “Cha-Ching!”
