Ok, so how many of you went to see The Hobbit this weekend and were JUST as excited to watch the 9 minute preview of the upcoming Star Trek movie as you were to see the actual feature? It looks as if J.J. Abrams and Bad Robot have done it again with yet another amazing tale of the exploits of Kirk, Spock and the rest of the gang.
When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis.
With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction.
As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.

This movie is on my personal MUST SEE IN IMAX list for 2013. I can’t wait and I hope that Mr. Abrams makes a dozen more of these. The characters were perfectly cast and these prequels are fantastic. Cumberbatch looks to be the perfect villain in this one. SPOILER ALERT!…for those of you guessing/ saying, “He’s playing Gary Mitchell, Cumberbatch is the new Khan!“ Sorry to tell you…. NO. In a recent interview Cumberbatch had this to say about his character: “I play John Harrison who’s a terrorist and an extraordinary character in his own right. He’s somebody who is not your two-dimensional cookie cutter villain.”
Paramount Pictures is bringing this one in 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D theaters on May 17. The movie stars Chris Pine, Benedict Cumberbatch, Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, Zoe Saldana, John Cho and Alice Eve.
