Artist James White describes himself as follows, “Artist, designer, speaker and proud Canadian. 1-man wrecking crew behind the Signalnoise Studio. Creator of @GumCards.” His work speaks for itself and this next piece is no exception. For IDW’s first issue of “The Rocketeer“, he was personally selected by the Strange Adventures comic book chain in Canada to produce a very rare, extremely exceptional, highly coveted, variant cover. This is James first published comic book work and from the looks of how incredible this project turned out, I have a strong feeling it won’t be his last.
Now before you go traveling across the boarder in the hopes of procuring one of these gems WAIT! On his blog James mentions that he is in the process of producing a screen printed version of this same image. In addition, after speaking with him, he let me know that he will also have some ultra-rare signed editions on his site at a later date. (Stay tuned for more on that as I get the info!)
Aside from focusing on the alternative art movie poster industry and creating outstanding images that compliment his favorite films he also spends a lot of time on the road speaking at various design conventions and events around the world.
“Being “different” isn’t enough anymore. You need to be a renegade!” – James White

Follow James on TWITTER for updates on the Rocketeer project and to find out when it will be released. (The comic debuts Feb. 27, is written by Roger Langridge and illustrated by J. Bone, with standard covers by Walter Simonson.)
(Big thanks to James for the info on the signed editions. I have to get my hands on one of those!)
