Space…the final frontier...what better topic for a show featuring some of today’s best and hottest artists? That’s what artist Mike Mitchell thought too so he partnered with Gallery 1988 and curated this upcoming exhibit that will take us where no man has gone before. (NO IT’S NOT A STAR TREK EXHIBIT! This Friday, June 21st, Gallery 1988 will open “SPACE: The Gallery Show,” a group exhibit curated by artist Mike Mitchell. The show, which will celebrate the past, present & future of space exploration and the awesomeness that is the universe, will feature over 50 amazing artists all working in many different mediums.

Wait… what? “Giveaways?” Looks like my afternoon and evening plans just got cemented in stone. The opening reception is THIS FRIDAY, from 7-10 PM. The night will also be hosted by Bobak Ferdowsi. Who is he you ask? Well it’s safe to say he will be the smartest guy in the room and knows a thing or two about the exhibits topic. Bobak is the flight director on the Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity mission.
(FYI – All the work will then go online the next afternoon for viewing and purchase at gallery1988.com.)
Check out some of the images for the show and clear your dance card for this Friday. Gallery 1988 has some stellar art lined up. (Sorry, had to throw that last one in there.)
