Jason Edmiston has just relaunched his store over on Big Cartel and to kick things off he is releasing his artist proof giclees from his highly acclaimed, first solo show with Mondo, “A Rogues Gallery.” The new store features incredible giclee prints, screen prints, stickers, posters, as well as Jason’s highly coveted, original art.
We asked Jason about the solo show and this is what he had to say. My art show (A Rogues Gallery) pays tribute to some of my favorite monsters and villains throughout the history of genre movies. I’ve always been fascinated by the antagonistic or evil characters in horror, science fiction, and fantasy films. These creatures demanded your attention, with their speech, their actions, their appearance. My intent is to celebrate these characters, and hail them in the most iconic way, demonstrating their inherent powers and intensity of personality.
The show was a huge success with tons of eager fans standing in line around the building waiting patiently to get a glimpse of their favorite monsters and villains. If you are in Austin, Texas, I strongly suggest that you go check it out. It will be at the Mondo Gallery (4115 Guadalupe St.) until this Saturday, September 14th!
Jason’s AP giclees from the show go live in his store at 12 noon EST on Friday the 13th! (How apropos right?!) All giclees are made with archival inks on acid-free paper. The colors in these prints are vibrant and perfectly matched to the original acrylic paintings. The paper is heavy and has the texture of fine quality watercolor paper. Printed by Static Medium. Get ready to drool because here is a look at what will be up for grabs….

If you take a close look at the exhibit photos Jason also informed us that his lost boy print, “Maggots” will will be a future giclee release from Mondo, in the next few months! (Damn I love that movie. Sutherland was such a great vampire! Absolutely, hands down, one of my all time favorite flicks…)
(Is it wrong/ awkward for me to say “I’m really looking forward to maggots?”)
