Strati Temporali By Gumdesign = Recycled Marble Tiles

Strati Temporali by gumdesign (or for Italian Doma by Sacerdote) explores the repurposing/upcycling of marble tiles. The making of these stunning pieces starts from merging together a number of discarded/found pieces of marble carefully layered in order to create the unique motives. Modern machinery is then coming into the picture and molding  the blocks into these stunning pebble-shaped objects that can be used as vases, centerpieces or fruit bowls.

The striped patterns have a strong reference to earth’s geological stratification which associated with the imaginary rolling motion of river’s pebbles create a strong image, reminiscent of  life’s uninterrupted flow of events.
