Get ready for a slew of new, tortured cat videos on YouTube. This year CES was buzzing with a bunch of different gadgets and one of them was Sphero. Using Bluetooth, the Sphero features internal robotics that allow users to move the ball around by manipulating a virtual joystick. Users can also change the orientation to determine which side of the ball faces forward.
Sphero comes with a bunch of different apps. Each one is sure to take hours of your time as you mindlessly torment your pet, create viral videos or just entertain yourself on a rainy day.
SpheroCam –Take your Sphero viral:
Have fun with Sphero and never miss a funny moment. Use the built-in camera on your iOS or Android device to record video or take snapshots while you simultaneously drive Sphero.
Sphero Drive – The driving app built just for Sphero:
Drive Sphero with joystick, tilt, or old-school remote controls. Create challenging courses, race against friends and family, or turn out the lights for a little night racing.
Sphero Golf – A totally new swing on golf:
Sphero is the ball and your phone is the club. Pick a “hole” then swing your phone or flick a finger to hit. Challenge friends to a round of office golf, create your own course at home, or venture out and make your own course practically anywhere.
Sphero Draw N’ Drive – If you can draw it, Sphero can drive it:
Use your finger to trace a shape or path on the screen and Sphero will follow it before your eyes. Just give your smartphone or tablet a shake to clear the slate.
