Watch This Impressive, Futuristic, Sci-Fi Adventure Short Film: Archetype

You may never heard of Aaron Sim but you have probably seen some of his past creature/conceptual designs in War of the Worlds, The Incredible Hulk, Clash of the Titans, Sucker Punch among many others. His other designs can also be seen in  films such as Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, The Thing and The Amazing Spider-Man.  No doubt the man has an imaginative vision with a prolific resume.

After working for over 25 years with the likes of director Steven Spielberg, Zack Snyder and Martin Campbell, Simm is poised to try his hand at directing himself with Archetype.  Produced through his own company and his visual effects outfit, Archetype VFX, the sci-fi short is about a robot who tries to regain his lost humanity. It stars Robert Joy (Land of the Dead, CSI: NY) and David Anders (Heroes, 24).  Simply put, the teaser is just as visually stunning as any major summer blockbuster flicks.

RL7 is an eight foot tall combat robot. Only problem is he’s starting to remember once being human. Now on the run from an all powerful corporation that will stop at nothing to destroy him RL7 desperately searches for the truth behind his mysterious memories before it’s too late.

Very well done with only one problem… It leaves me wanting more.

I really hope a full feature is made of this. It sounds like a great plot and the visuals are just eye candy.
