Belkin’s Amazing ‘WeMo’ Will Let You Control Your Home and Trick Your Kids…Remotely

Most of you will see a home automation device to help you make your lives more efficient.  Good for you!  I see a way to trick my son into thinking I have amazing super powers and that I am a force to be reckoned with!  (Insert evil laugh HERE!)

Belkin came out of the gates swinging at CES this year introducing a new brand identity along with 13 new products.  This one, WeMo really stands out.  Belkin’s new WeMo system is home automation made easy. It’s completely modular, so you can control as much or as little of your home as you like. Turn on a light in another room, or turn it off from across town. Put your house on a schedule—living room lights go on in the evening, kids’ TV goes off at bedtime. You can check to make sure you turned the iron off, after you’ve already left the house. Have a fan go on before you get home. WeMo can even guard the front door with its motion sensor.

The WeMo app is free and runs the show through WeMo’s Home Control Switch. It allows you to turn your stuff on or off from anywhere. You can even put anything (or everything!) on a schedule. (Coming soon to iPhone and iPad.)

Utilize WeMo to truly automate activities in your home. Lights go on when and where you need them. Have WeMo guard the front door. Games and TV and stereos go off in the playroom when the kids leave and forget to turn everything off. It’s up to you! The WeMo motion sensor detects movement in your house during your absence, and devices plugged into the WeMo Home Control Outlet can be programmed to react to motion.

Belkin’s WeMo is a truly outstanding product.  To find out more you can visit their website HERE.
