DC Comics Announces Exclusive Variant Covers For NYCC From Jim Lee And Greg Capullo

Sure to be a huge hit at next weeks New York Comic Con, DC Comics is bringing variant covers for two of their biggest issues of the year.  The Justice League #12 variant features a warm embrace between Superman and Wonder Woman on a new evening background done by comic book legend Jim Lee.

Next up the Joker gets two disturbing variant covers for Batman #13 by artist Greg Capullo.  The peeled and stretched face of the Joker sets the haunting and unpredictable tone for the “Death of the Family” crossover event that kicks off next week.

Personally, I can’t WAIT for this story to unfold.  I first saw it teased on The Fire Wire back in August and have been eagerly awaiting the return of the dark clown prince ever since.  (Here are a few images from Batman # 13 that is scheduled to be released on October 10th.)  Looks like the Joker is beyond reason and has made some ‘modifications‘.  Scott Snyder’s work has QUICKLY risen to the top of my must read list and from the looks of things, this is going to be a story to remember.

All three variants are available exclusively at New York Comic Con 2012, at the Graphitti Designs Booth #939, for only $10 each.  New York Comic Con takes place between October 11 and October 14 at the Javits Center in New York City.

Now, if only I can score a cheap airline ticket to NY I can get these for myself!
