It’s no secret that BLURPPY is a huge fan of artist Tracie Ching’s work. We have written several articles on her work and even learned about the woman behind the art in a lil’ interview or two we did with her which you can read HERE and HERE. These days she continues to churn out impressive image after impressive image. (Dare I say that she is even getting better with each new piece?) Now it seems she wants to challenge herself on a whole new level. Here is what she has to say about her first ever “Portrait Night“.
The time is still a little squiffy but somewhere around 5 or 6PM EST I will post an email address or upload link for people to send in images of someone they would like me to draw. The only requirements are the photo must be of yourself, a friend, or family member and that you keep it clean. (I’m sure everyone’s private bits are quite impressive but I have no interest in seeing them, let alone drawing them. Thanks!)
Everyone is encouraged to submit throughout the night. I’ll continuously pick my favorites and try to bang out as many as I can until early in the morning. As I finish I’ll post them to Facebook and Twitter. These won’t be super polished works but it’ll be a fun exercise for me and you guys will get some free portraits out of it. 🙂
To kick things off I will also be hosting a Google Hangout. I’ll be there for about an hour in case anyone has trouble submitting or if there are questions about the event or just things in general. There might also be a special guest or two dropping by so make sure to check in and say hi.”
