Sci-Fi fans are bummed. This Friday marks the 100th episode of Fringe and it is a doosey because it is also the final episode of one of TV’s most beloved sci-fi franchises. Created by J. J. Abrams, Alex Kurtzman, and Roberto Orci in 2008 the show has had a ton of loyal followers and after 5 seasons it all comes to an end this week.
How far would you be willing to go to save everyone you care about? In 1985 one father’s choice to save his son, no matter the cost, started an inadvertent pattern of destruction. Now Fringe Division, a special unit of the FBI, has been tasked with finding a way to stop the damage. Their investigations into cases of science run amok have uncovered connections not only to their own past but to an alternate universe just slightly different than our own that threatens our very future.
The acclaimed series that has explored the human condition through the prism of parallel universes, unexplainable phenomena and unimaginable threats, reaches a milestone 100th episode and comes to an epic and climatic conclusion. First, the Fringe team engages a desperate plan as Olivia embarks on a dangerous and otherworldly journey into the unknown. Then, Peter, Olivia, Walter, Astrid and Broyles face off against the Observers in one final and extraordinary battle for the fate of mankind. The five-season saga comes to an epic and emotional end in the special two-hour “Liberty/An Enemy of Fate” series finale episode of FRINGE airing Friday, January 18th on FOX.
