IDW and 2000 AD Present: Judge Dredd Year #1

IDW is launching an all new mini series about fan-favorite, Judge Dredd.  The long hard road begins here.  In an all new adventure from Joe Dredd’s early days as a Mega City-One Judge.  Writer and Eagle-award-winning 2000 AD Editor Matt Smith presents a tale where “all the young juves, carry the news” only in this case, the news is delivered with a lethal blow.  (Matt Smith, previously wrote a novella called Judge Dredd: Year One: City Father, which was released digitally earlier this year.)

Screen Shot 2013-03-20 at 10.13.27 AMDredd’s a notoriously difficult character to get the voice right — and it becomes even more of a challenge when you’re writing him as an eighteen year old, fresh out of the Academy,” said Matt Smith. “But it’s been great fun charting his early cases, feeding into the stories the elements that will go on to make him Mega-City’s most feared lawman. And it’s terrific to have Simon Coleby on board, a superb artist and well experienced in portraying the madness of the future metropolis.”
