Christopher Lee AKA “The Beast Is Back” is a designer, illustrator and a self proclaimed action figure connoisseur. His passion for art started very early on given that he has been drawing and creating art ever since crayons were his selected weapon of choice. Christopher lives in Van Nuys and has been an independent artist since 2009 and after looking at his work, confidence is high that he made the right call.

Chris’ latest offering is a “May The 4th Be With You” piece of perfection. It’s a Star Wars Action Figure Compendium that captures the iconic Kenner card back from the 80’s. This one in particular is the “92 card back” which covered the entire basic figure assortment. (While Yak Face was never included in the lineup, Chris threw him in there for good measure.) Let it be known that I do not own ANY of these action figures but I just may start collecting them after looking at this poster. I mean come on… Admiral Ackbar never looked so happy… so carefree…
In addition to freelance work, he collaborates with his girlfriend on a greeting card and paper goods brand, The Birds and the Beasts.
Here are 3 prints that Chris did back in 2012 as a personal project to pay homage to the original trilogy. I hesitate to even show them to you because, as you can expect, they are sold out and the pain of not being able to purchase them may be too much for some of you, (me included) to bare. What you see here is a staggering 150 hours of hand-drawn, and hand-colored work. The time spent was well worth it and the end result would look amazing on any Star Wars fan’s wall.
