Film District Releases An Intense Red Band Trailer For Spike Lee’s “Oldboy”

Oldboy-PosterSpike Lee’s remake of the classic revenge masterpiece by South Korean Director, Park Chan-Wook, looks to be pretty powerful, violent and intense.  Today Film District has released the red band trailer and I have to be honest, it made me want to go see this film.

Screen Shot 2013-07-10 at 1.38.02 PMThe official synopsis is as follows:  An advertising executive is kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement. When he is inexplicably released, he embarks on an obsessive mission to discover who orchestrated his punishment, only to find he is still trapped in a web of conspiracy and torment.

Screen Shot 2013-07-10 at 1.40.28 PMThe advertising executive is played by Josh Brolin and the story starts in 1993 and takes the revenge theme to a whole new level.  What would YOU do if you were kept against your will for 20 years?  Well, watch the trailer and find out what Brolin’s character does.  Oldboy is directed by Spike Lee and opens in theaters October 25th. It stars Josh Brolin, Sharlto Copley, Samuel L. Jackson, and Elizabeth Olsen
