DAMN IT I AM LATE TO THE GAME ON THIS ONE! (Some say better late then never though so I’m going to hand my hat on that saying.) Not For Rental is a movie inspired charity exhibition that is executive produced by the fantastic, Little White Lies magazine . The exhibit features the work of hundreds of the world’s best and emerging creative talent in the fields of art, street art, design, illustration, craft, photography, film and more.
Curated and directed by London-based designers Timba Smits and Gordon ‘Flash’ Shaw, it comes packed full of heart, surprises and – like any great movie – a secret twist. Artists included are; Raid 71, Sharm Murugiah, Aaron Miller, Aeon, Andre Beato, Andrew Fairclough, Barbara Ana Gomez, Ben Javens, Bobby McKenna, Cat Rabbit, Chris Madden, Christopher Gray, Corey Say, Daren Newman, I Love Dust, Joe Wilson, Justin Maller, Mark Brooks, Moose and Yeti and MANY more.
At it’s core, it’s an art exhibition, but one you can only fully experience once you step through the door: be prepared to fall in love with movies all over again. Plus, there’s also an extended-cut roster of side events including workshops, talks and film/screening nights.
Not For Rental is a unique event in aid of Macmillan cancer support and youth-led charity art against Knives, an attempt to raise awareness and support for issues that are affecting people we care about.
Born on the 4th July, Not For Rental has been open for one week and the hundreds of original, one-off artworks go on sale on Saturday 13 July (10am – 6pm) with ALL proceeds going to Macmillan Cancer Support and Art Against Knives.
The art is fantastic, the charities do incredible work. Come out on Saturday July 13th for the last day of the show, support the artists, the charities and pick up some unique one off pieces for your collection.
