Artist Luke Butland Gets All Video Game On Us With His Latest Print: “The Legend Of Zelda Ocarina Of Time”

Screen Shot 2013-08-13 at 8.18.52 PMOne of the newest Poster Posse artists, Luke Butland graced our site with his awesome image for Pacific Rim and Breaking Bad.  Now he is going in a totally different direction and he is tackling the video game classic, “The Legend of Zelda – Ocarina of Time.

The print features the game’s hero Link as he walks across the land of Hyrule on a quest to stop Ganondorf, King of the Gerudo tribe, from obtaining the Triforce, a sacred relic that grants the wishes of its holder. In the game Link travels through time and navigates various dungeons to awaken sages who have the power to seal Ganondorf away forever. Music plays an important role—to progress, the player must learn to play and perform several songs on an ocarina.

Giclee Print on 240Gsm Natural white paper

230 mm x 580 mm

Limited Edition Run Of 20

With every purchase of this print you will receive a digital download of the music Link learns on the ocarina re-composed for Orchestra by Marcus Hedges.

Here is what Luke had to say about the project: “With the Zelda print I was invited to get involved by Marcus Hedges, who I have known for years, to collaborate with him on a gaming project he was working on, and being a geek I couldn’t really turn that down. What’s really great is, when you buy one of these prints, you will also receive a digital download of the remixed music so it’s great for fans of the games.

ZeldaPrint_closeAlso I’m sure you will notice a drastic style change…. this is mainly due to not being able to hand draw for the past two months as I have been recovering from an appendicitis, so its given me the opportunity to push my creativity in new ways, and hopefully the results are as pleasing to the audience as they have been for me to learn them. When I can draw again I’m hoping to combine my old and new styles to create some kind of ‘frankenstyle’.”

I love the way this turned out and I truly hope Luke does similar prints/ music in the future.  Hurry over to his shop HERE to pick up yours.  The print run is only 20 and these should go pretty fast.  Get better Luke, I can’t wait to see what your “Frankenstyle” comes up with.  Perhaps we will ALL get a look with the next Poster Posse Project?….Only time will tell.
