Fox TV Gets Into The DC Universe With An All-New Series About The Origin Of Commissioner Gordon Called “Gotham”

Marvel has just launched their new TV series called “Agents Of Shield” and now DC is ramping up to launch THEIR own TV series over on Fox called “Gotham.”  Gotham will tell the origin story of James Gordon who eventually becomes Commissioner Gordan and one of Batman’s greatest allies.

The series will focus on a young Detective James Gordon and “the villains that made Gotham famous.” Bruno Heller (Rome, The Mentalist) is writing the Commissioner Gordon origin which will presumably launch during the 2014-2015 TV season. Gotham will take place before Gordon meets Batman, who will not be a part of the series. (Calm down everyone, don’t get your panties in a bunch because your favorite detective won’t be on the show.  Think about it…do you really want to see The Dark Knight walking up the side of a building ala Adam West style?… We didn’t think so.)

Stay tuned for more on this as it becomes available.
