The CW wants to reboot the 1980s horror/fantasy/thriller anthology series by George A. Romero and have assembled an “Avengers-esque” team of heroes to get the job done.  Joe Hill has been tapped to write the project and Alex Kurtzman and Bob Orci will work their magic as producers.

The 3 superstars have worked together previously when they adapted Hill’s brilliant comic book graphic novel: “Locke & Key” for Fox.  (By the way, I’m still hopefull that the Locke & Key project can land at HBO, SHOWTIME or CINEMAX where they will REALLY be able to dig into the story!)

_joe-hillFor you kids that are too young to remember the original, here is how WIKI describes it:

Tales from the Darkside is an anthology horror TV series created by George A. Romero; it was released in 1984. Similar to Amazing Stories, The Twilight Zone, Night Gallery, The Outer Limits, Tales From The Crypt, and Lee Martin’s The Midnight Hour, each episode was an individual short story that ended with a plot twist. The series’ episodes spanned the genres of horror, science fiction, and fantasy, and some episodes featured elements of black comedy or more lighthearted themes.

_talesfromthedarksideThe series will follow the original’s 30 minute format and is being considered for a summer run. Stay tuned and we will give you more info as it becomes available.  Now, in the meantime, who do I have to talk to about getting the “Locke & Key” project up and running?
