Sometimes I do the unthinkable and try to imagine a world without Star Wars in it and it REEEEEEEALLY makes me sad. Just imagine allllllll that awesomeness simply gone POOF, without a trace. No AT-AT Walkers, no General Grievous, no Tusken Raiders, no Yoda, Vader, Greedo, Chewy, Han or Boba Fett! (Ok, a world without Jar-Jar WOULD be pretty sweet but ya gotta take the bad with the good right?)
The other day we were trolling the internet, seeking out new awesomeness when we landed smack dab in the middle of St. Louis artist Toby Gerber’s universe. Toby has come up with a pretty damn cool Star Wars Original Trilogy Triptych and since we first saw it, we continually find ourselves being drawn back to it.
This idea started with my love of all things pop culture and my love for Star Wars in particular. The illustration that I started with was Rogue Squadron, the idea originally came from the video game of the same name. I was a huge fan as a kid. When I finished that one I immediately had the idea for the other two versions and I have just started a prequel trilogy triptych.
When we asked Toby if these would be for sale he mentioned: “I am pricing out prints now. If there is enough interest I will get something going.” Uhhhhh YES we want these! If you like them as much as WE do then send Toby a quick message on his BEHANCE PAGE. Stay tuned to BLURPPY.COM for updates on this project going on sale and his upcoming prequel triptych as we will DEFINITELY be covering BOTH. Huge thanks to Toby for taking the time to work with us on this. We absolutely look forward to his next Star Wars offering!
