Odd City Entertainment & Gabz Partner Up Once Again And Announce A Sensational Print For “True Romance”

Odd City Entertainment is capitalizing on their successful relationship with one of the most popular artist working, Grzegorz Domaradzki – Gabz, for another outstanding print.  This time out they have delivered an outstanding set of prints for  the Tony Scott/ Quentin Tarantino classic, “True Romance.”

true-romanceHere is what Scott and Tarantino had to say about the original movie:

Tony Scott: When I was directing The Last Boy Scout, my assistant was hanging out with this quirky guy named Quentin Tarantino, and he’d be around the set. She said, “You gotta read his script.” I said, “Yeah, right.”

Quentin Tarantino: When you’re a nobody, it’s murder to get anyone to read your scripts. So my thing was making the first page fantastic, with dialogue that grabbed you right away. The original True Romance script started with a long discussion about cunnilingus. Most people said the script was racist and that the grotesque violence would make people sick. I told Tony, “Read the first three pages. If you don’t like it, throw it away.”

_Levon-Biss_Quentin-Tarantino Scott: He gave me two scripts: True Romance, which was his first script, and Reservoir Dogs. I’m a terrible reader, but I read them both on a flight to Europe. By the time I landed, I wanted to make both of them into movies. When I told Quentin, he said, “You can only do one.”

_true-romance-slater-arquette-drivingNot only was the screenplay exceedingly well done but the cast was beyond top notch.  Just look at the roll call of actors who appeared in the film: Patricia Arquette, Christian Slater, Christopher Walken, Brad Pitt, Gary Oldman, James Gandolfini, Dennis Hopper, Val Kilmer, Samuel L Jackson, Sean Penn, Michael Rapaport, and Tom Sizemore!  Well the rest is history and now Odd City and Gabz are taking us back to this fantastic movie and the end result is outstanding.

True-romance-1Here is what Odd City Entertainment and Gabz had to say about the movie and the project:

The image features all the characters whose actions impact the story of our favorite on screen couple, Clarence and Alabama, all encapsulated within the silhouette of Cupid himself. And just as the film featured both the cities of Detroit and Los Angeles, this print will be released in two versions, one for each city. The blue Cupid on white background for Detroit, and the black Cupid on cream for Los Angeles. – Odd City Entertainment

_true-romance“Coming up with a concept for a movie like True Romance, that I have been a huge fan of for years and is among my favorite Tony Scott films of all time, wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be when I first got the proposal. There are so many brilliant quotes, memorable scenes and a mind-blowing soundtrack on top of it all.

True-romance-2The Hawaiian shirted Cupid I went with, symbolizing the bizarre romance between Alabama and Clarence, came to me as a revelation and I felt I had a winner. I desperately wanted to not only catch the mood of the film, but also include as many characters as I could possibly fit. I love every single performance from the movie and I felt like everyone deserved a tribute.” – Grzegorz “GABZ” Domaradzki

Check out the two prints from Gabz after the jump and then let us know what you think.  Personally, I feel that Gabz has nailed it once again.  He has captured the essence of the movie AND his print makes me want to jump on Netflix and watch it all over again.
