Harlan Elam Releases Another Print From His Nostalgic 8-Bit Game Series: “The Legend Of Zelda: Level One”

Back in January we gave you a look at the first print from Harlan Elam for a fantastic new 8-Bit Series that he is doing.  That first print was called “Super Mario Bros: Level One” and it perfectly embodies the game and brings back SO many memories of being hunkered down in from of the TV, playing for hours on end.

We reached out to Harlan about this print project and here is what he had to say about this contribution to the series.

“The Legend of Zelda introduced me to a whole new level of gaming, one that combined an open world and difficult puzzles. It was also my first introduction to interactive fantasy storytelling that led to a life long love affair with escapism reading. It required a lot of trial and error and teaming up with friends to beat different areas of the game. My subscription to Nintendo Power didn’t hurt either.

Screen Shot 2014-03-31 at 9.52.19 PMHow many times did we enter The Eagle on our quest to defeat Ganon? Too many to count. The idea was to capture those moments with friends and offer them up as framable pieces of art, or Paper Nintendo.”

Head over to 411posters on Thursday, April 3rd at 9 am PST to secure not only Zelda, but grab one of the few remaining Mario’s that are there as well.  Stay tuned because Harlan has more 8-bit prints on the horizon!  Follow him on TWITTER and check out his work in the latest Poster Posse Project for GODZILLA HERE.

Great post, Don. Brings back memories to me. My kids were pretty much later on done playing Zelda they aught me how to play. I went on to Play FF 1 and beat it at level 26 with ALL possible combinations. The kids wanted me to send a photo to Nintendo Power to be published in the Records column.
