Check Out The First Trailer From Writer, Director, Podcaster, Kevin Smith’s Next Film: “Tusk”

“All that separates man from animal are the stories he tells.”

Kevin Smith took to San Diego Comic Con to give fans a look at the first trailer for his next film, “Tusk.”  The official synopsis for this one is short – “When his best friend and podcast co-host goes missing in the backwoods of Canada, a young guy joins forces with his friend’s girlfriend to search for him.”

Screen Shot 2014-07-25 at 9.42.18 PMThe film stars Justin Long as the podcaster with Haley Joel Osment as the friend and Genesis Rodriguez playing the part of Long’s very attractive girlfriend.  (NO WAY a guy with THAT mustache gets THAT girl!)

Anyhow, the movie was inspired by a true story based on an advertisement from a lonely man looking for someone to “dress as a walrus”, (yep, you read that correctly) and play with him after he grew attached to the animal while stuck on a deserted island.

After watching the trailer it seems pretty dark and reminds me of the twisted film, The Human Centipede and a dash of “Misery” by Stephen King.  Smith recently posted this gruesome photo on Instagram showing a Walrus/ Man hybrid.

Given that the tagline on the poster reads, “A truly transformative tale” I have a feeling we are about to get something completely unexpected from Smith and we can’t wait. Give the trailer a watch and let us know what you think.

“Tusk” will hit theaters on September 19, 2014.  You can keep up with the film VIA their OFFICIAL WEBSITE, TWITTER and FACEBOOK pages.
