Hero Complex Gallery’s Upcoming Show Asks “Which Side Are You On?”

Tom Miatke teaser

On Friday, August 15th, Hero Complex Gallery will open their doors to a new exhibit titled, “I Am The Law/ A Life Of Crime.”  If the title conjures images of cops and criminals, authority figures, buddy cop films, cons, prison films, heists, gangsters, gangs, westerns, spies, murders, whodunits, and private eyes then you have your finger on the pulse of what to expect when you walk in.

Florey (Awesome detail with the braille title!  Shout out to the first person who guesses what it says.)

The Dark Inker

This show will cover the gambit of good guys and bad guys, and highlight how pop culture has shown us that crime doesn’t, or in some cases, DOES pay!  There is an impressive lists of artists participating in this one along with a VERY strong Poster Posse presence that includes, Adam Rabalais, The Dark Inker, DoalyKaz Oomori, Andrew Swainson, Florey, Marie Bergeron, Luke Butland, Joe Vetoe, Simon Delart, Alexandros Pyromallis, Chris Skinner, Salvador Anguiano, Tom Miatke, Sam Ho, Erin Gallagher and Orlando Arocena.  Check out some of the Posse’s work from the show and we’ll see you at HCG on Friday night.  (FOLLOW BLURPPY IN INSTAGRAM for pics from the show!)

Hit the jump below and see more art from this upcoming show including an exclusive first-look at Joe Vetoe’s variant for Lethal Weapon!  If you go to the show, say “Hello”, I’ll be wearing a Poster Posse t-shirt from one of our past projects.

LW Final Dark Red Variant Preview

Joe Vetoe variant“I was just looking for something fun to do with the variant.  I remembered fellow Poster Posse member, Chris Garofalo’s variant for Dirty Harry where he shot ACTUAL bullet holes into the variant.  To me that’s by far the greatest variant ever created. Now, I’m not that extreme or creative, so I thought the smiley face Riggs shoots into the target would be a nice touch and when my girlfriend saw it she said, “Have a nice day!”, which of course is what Riggs says (how cool is it that she knows that?) so I figured it’d be fun to include for fans of the movie.  Basically what I’m telling you is, we have Chris Garafalo and my girlfriend to thank for the variant.  Hopefully people get a kick out of it.”

Posse member Luke Butland did a bunch of prints called his “GUNSLINGER SERIES.”  Here are two space-themed prints.

We love that he has included their “weapon of choice” below each image.
