Author Richard Kadrey

Since 2009, Kadrey has been writing about the exploits of James “Sandman Slim” Stark.  Sandman Slim is NOT your average protagonist.  How so you ask?  Well, he spent eleven long years in Hell, (Yes, the actual “Bad place) as a hit man against demons before finally escaping. He is half-human, half-angel nephilim with a bad rep and a worse attitude.

Kadrey’s  latest book, “The Getaway God” is the sixth in the Sandman Slim series and as usual, things aren’t looking up for Stark.  After temporarily playing Lucifer, Stark has made a few enemies.  None are as fearsome as the vindictive Angra Om Ya (the Older Gods.)  But  their imminent invasion is only one of Stark’s problems right now.  Los Angeles is descending into chaos, and a new evil, St Nick, is stalking the city.  (NO, he doesn’t have a white beard and a red suit.)

No ordinary killer, St. Nick takes Slim deep into a conspiracy that stretches from Earth to Heaven and Hell.  He’s also the only person alive who MAY know how to keep the world from going extinct.  The trouble is, he’s also Stark’s worst enemy, the only man in existence that Stark would enjoy killing TWICE!

As usual, this one is packed with gory violence, swearing and situations that would keep a young reader huddled under their covers praying for daylight.  Fans of the series will be thoroughly pleased to see that Stark is back to his snarky self but can he stop St. Nick and save the earth?.  You can order the book HERE and find out.
