Director Peter Docter, (the man responsible for one of our all-time favorite Pixar films, “Up” as well as “Monsters, Inc“) is back in the drivers seat for Pixar’s “Inside Out.” Pixar is embarking on a psychological thriller for this one as the story mostly takes place in the mind of an 11 year old girl named Riley. (As you can imagine, she has a lot going on inside that noggin of hers!)
Pixar has just released some character posters for the emotions, Fear, Sadness, Joy, Disgust, and Anger, who are the major players in the film. Each character is seemingly perfectly cast with the voice talents of: Fear (Bill Hader), Sadness (Phyllis Smith), Joy (Amy Poehler), Disgust (Mindy Kaling), and Anger (Lewis Black).
Here is the official synopsis: Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it’s no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions – Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness. The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters.
Pixar’s “Inside Out” hits theaters on June 19, 2015 and we can’t WAIT!
