IMAX Set To Air The Final 2 Episodes Of Season 4 For HBO’s “Game of Thrones” & Offering Commemorative Prints By Robert Ball!

HBO’s “Game of Thrones” is a ratings juggernaut and its fans are some of the most loyal around.  IMAX is set to blaze a new path by offering the final two episodes of season four on their massive screens.  This is the first time a television show has ever graced the ultimate viewing venues but it’s most likely not going to be the last.  Daenerys Targaryen on a 72 ft × 53 ft screen?….Where do we get tickets?!

To make matters even BETTER for fans is that there are 2 commemorative posters by Robert Ball to accompany these screenings!  Here is what IMAX had to say about this even over on their site.

Due to high levels of consumer demand, Game of Thrones in IMAX will now launch one week later on Thursday, January 29 beginning at 10 p.m. and extend through February 5. The date change allows for an expanded roll-out of screens to upwards of 200 IMAX theatres. This will be the first-ever presentation of a television program in IMAX theaters  featuring two episodes from season four of Game of Thrones followed by the worldwide debut of the series’ season five sneak-peek preview created exclusively for IMAX.

The move from January 23, prompted by extraordinary consumer response that drove online mentions for IMAX to record heights, will allow for an expanded domestic roll-out from the originally planned 150 IMAX theatres. The episodes will be digitally re-mastered into the immersive IMAX format and will be released for an exclusive one-week engagement.
