Watch The Mesmerizing First Trailer For Guillermo del Toro’s “Crimson Peak”

We’ve eagerly, almost feverishly, been waiting for this since the project was announced, the first trailer to del Toro’s haunted mansion film, “Crimson Peak.”  It’s touted as “his ultimate masterpiece” which is saying a lot considering his magnificent portfolio of films that include Pans Labyrinth, his Hellboy films and Pacific Rim.

Clocking in at only 1:36 it is a stunning, virtual smorgasbord of dark delight and is made even creepier by the song “Red Right Hand” by PJ Harvey which helps set the tone.  Set in Victorian-era England, the film stars Tom Hiddleston, Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain, and Charlie Hunnam.

Here is the official synopsis: Legendary Pictures’ “Crimson Peak,” a co-production with Universal Pictures, is a haunting gothic horror story directed by the master of dark fairy tales, Guillermo del Toro, written by del Toro and Matthew Robbins and starring Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain, Tom Hiddleston and Charlie Hunnam.
