“Clear your minds… they already know what scares you…”
Directed by Tobe Hooper and co-written and produced by Steven Spielberg, the 1982 horror classic, “Poltergeist”, is about to get a redo. On July 24, 2015 fans of the classic can get a look at a new version of the film that is directed by Gil Kenan, written by David Lindsay-Abaire and produced by “Evil Dead,” “Darkman” and “Spider-Man” mastermind, Sam Raimi.
The new version stars Sam Rockwell, Jared Harris, Rosemarie DeWitt, Saxon Sharbino, and Jane Adams. Here is the official synopsis from the film’s WEBSITE. Legendary filmmaker Sam Raimi (“Spiderman”, “Evil Dead”, “The Grudge”) and director Gil Kenan (“Monster House”) contemporize the classic tale about a family whose suburban home is haunted by evil forces. When the terrifying apparitions escalate their attacks and hold the youngest daughter captive, the family must come together to rescue her before she disappears forever.
We have the US and the UK trailers to share with you. It looks like the studio/ director are taking advantage of every bit of the PG-13 rating and in a recent interview, Rockwell said that this version is “very scary and very intense.”
We know that fans of the original will be watching this one with every intent of picking it apart but come on….give it a chance. Watch both trailers and let us know what you think down in the comments section below.
