“Maybe Superman was some kind of beacon for them to creep back from the shadows…”
After much bally-who about it “leaking” online during San Diego Comic Con, Warner Bros. has officially released the trailer for the film where the bad guys become the “good guys,” in what is sure to be DC’s 2016 summer blockbuster, “Suicide Squad.” Here is what Su Kroll, President of Worldwide Marketing and International Distribution for Warner Bros. Pictures had to say about the piracy of their trailer:
“Warner Bros. Pictures and our anti-piracy team have worked tirelessly over the last 48 hours to contain the Suicide Squad footage that was pirated from Hall H on Saturday. We have been unable to achieve that goal. Today we will release the same footage that has been illegally circulating on the web, in the form it was created and high quality with which it was intended to be enjoyed. We regret this decision as it was our intention to keep the footage as a unique experience for the Comic Con crowd, but we cannot continue to allow the film to be represented by the poor quality of the pirated footage stolen from our presentation.”
Now there is no official synopsis yet but we do know that the cast includes Will Smith as DEADSHOT, Jai Courtney as CAPTAIN BOOMERANG, Cara Delevingne as ENCHANTRESS, Joel Kinnaman as RICK FLAGG, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as KILLER CROC, Ike Barinholtz as HUGO STRANGE, Jay Hernandez as EL DIABLO, Adam Beach as SLIPKNOT, Jim Parrack as JONNY FROST, Margot Robbie as HARLEY QUINN and Jared Leto as THE JOKER.
The film is being directed by David Ayer and hits theaters next August. Given the fact that the Suicide Squad is comprised of super villains, the tone of the trailer seems to match what you would expect. Give it a look and let us know what you think down in the comments section below. Are you amped up for this one?
