Henrik Lorentzen Thinks BB-8 Deserves His Own Lego Set & So Do We

Despite his diminutive size, BB-8 has become one of the biggest fan favorites from the new Star Wars film, “The Force Awakens.”  Henrik Lorentzen has proposed a new project on LEGO Ideas and we think it’s brilliant.

Like many of us he has dreamed of making an official LEGO-model and I’d say this one has a good chance of bringing his wish to life.  Here is what he had to say about it over on the LEGO Ideas page.

Once I saw early pictures of BB-8 from the new Star Wars movie The Force Awakens, I just knew I had to make a model of it. I wanted to capture the shape and characteristics with as few pieces as possible. This resulted in a model with 227 pieces. All pieces used are currently active pieces (in sets that are on the market now).  – Henrik Lorentzen

This idea needs 10,000 supporters to be considered by LEGO so CLICK HERE and go click the SUPPORT button.  You can NEVER have enough BB-8……

Honestly, I would have prefered that he did not copy my original design for the body submitted 6 weeks before to Ideas https://ideas.lego.com/projects/120370. Completely unfair 😦

If you are interested into more details concerning the original design of the body copied by this model see http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=115383.
