Side Project Skateboards Redefines The Phrase “Good Wood”

side-project-skateboards-no-21-108-loSince the 194o’s, when kids were attaching roller skate wheels to boards, skateboarding has grown and become more than just a way to get around, it’s become a cultural phenomenon.  Names like Christian Hosoi, Tony Hawk, Danny Way,  The Bones Brigade, Bob Burnquist, Rodney Mullen, Mark Gonzalez and many more have paved the way to make skateboarding a global, multi-billion dollar industry.

Houston, Texas is the home base of Side Project Skateboards.  Created by Jake Eshelman, Side Project Skateboards makes one of a kind, hand crafted works of art using recovered hardwood.

SPS+Indigo+hands+3_hiEach piece is vintage inspired creation that is cut, shaped and finished by hand.  Just calling these “skateboards” is coming up short, each one is a work of art….that you can ride.
